What I Bought For My Wedding

When I first meet with brides, they often tell me how overwhelmed they feel by all the little details of planning their wedding. There’s so many small things that can easily fall between the cracks and become overlooked compared to the “big” things on your wedding-day checklist!  This blog post isn’t going to be a cure-all. It isn’t going to list every single thing YOU will need for your wedding, because there’s no set list for that! Some couples want things incorporated in their wedding that other couples don’t and that just comes along with the uniqueness of every couple and love story. So, I’m going to tell you about the things I decided to get for my wedding! Maybe it will spark some ideas for you, or help you think of things you hadn’t thought about yet! I want this to be a helpful resource and just a general guide. So, here we gooooo!

I had the BEST wedding vendor team! The very first thing I did was book my venue, photographer and videographer.

-Venue: My venue was called The Beck Event Space and was located just outside of Kansas City in a brick building that used to be a mechanic shop! Very industrial/urban vibes even though it wasn’t in the inner city. We were very lucky in the sense that our venue came with an amazing manager and it included the DJ, arbor, centerpieces and soda package!

-Video and Photo: My videographer was Enlow Productions & my photographer (you’ll see some of her photos below!) was Meredith Graves!

-Coordinators: Our day-of coordinators were Huco Events and we loved them! So friendly, organized & professional! We decided to go with day-of coordinators instead of full on wedding planners just because it was a better fit for us!

-Catering: For catering we went with Brancato’s (yummmmy!!)

-Cake & Officiant: Our cake and officiant services were both done by family friends!

-Hair and Makeup: We had an AMAZING hair and makeup team! @lilyandveil, @ashleyruckmanmua, and @styledbyamberlie helped the morning be so efficient and we were all feeling our best! Every girl dreams of feeling beautiful on her wedding day, and I did because of them. Their friendliness and professionalism were just an added bonus!

-Floral Preservation: After surfing TikTok while wedding planning, I decided I wanted a way to preserve my wedding bouquet forever. Jen’s Golden Stems did just that, and now I’ll have this beautiful framing of my florals to hold on to!

-Florist: Our flowers were done by Flower Power KC. Absolutely stunning, reasonably priced, and included delivery on the day-of! Our flowers were exactly what I was hoping for & she made my vision come to life!

-Dress Preservation: Savvy Bridal in KCMO.

-Invitations: Minted (Poetique by Kate Ahn)

-Dress/Suits: I got my dress at True Society Bella Vogue in downtown KC. 10/10 recommend, 5 stars, hands down the best dress-shopping experience I could’ve asked for! You walk in and immediately the girls are SO friendly, and there are hundreds (yes, hundreds) of dresses to choose from! My bridal consultant Molly hyped me up the whole time, made me feel comfortable and was a huge part in helping me find my dream dress. (Fun fact: I had a secret Pinterest board of wedding dresses, and my top choice ended up being the dress I got! I had NO idea!). For suits, we ended up going with Men’s Warehouse!

Now, to the smaller stuff:

Our caterer included silverware, plates and napkins for the dinner but since we ordered our cake somewhere else we had to get our own dessert plates! We got ours on Amazon!

The bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen ties were from Azazie! We went with cabernet, desert rose and dusty rose! I ended up loving how all the colors looked both in person AND in our photos. It was exactly what I’d imagined and I couldn’t have been happier with how they turned out!

Detail photos are one of my favorite parts of wedding days, so naturally I had to buy this adorable velvet ring box!!

I wanted something comfy to walk around in all day, so I bought these cute slippers with my new last name on them and this fancy schmancy robe from Shein!

I also gave my bridesmaids these robes to wear while getting ready!

I absolutely hate wearing heels and opted for some more comfortable footwear for my wedding day shoes. I love the A New Day brand at Target and decided I was going to go with a pair of their comfy “sandals” to wear under my dress. They were perfect!

My necklace and earrings were from Etsy. I wanted to have a super minimalistic look while also supporting smaller businesses and I ended up loving each piece!

For bridesmaid gifts, I wanted to get them something cute but also re-usable so I got everyone a customized glass mug! A lot of my bridesmaids were new brides, so I put “Mrs. XYZ” on their mugs to commemorate their new last names! They were a huge hit!

For parent gifts, I customized these prints from Etsy and then had them printed at Walgreens!

Our table decorations were mostly provided by our venue, but we did end up needing to get our own table numbers and picture frames. For table numbers we found these cute ones on Amazon, and then we ended up getting our picture frames from Dollar Tree!! (Tip: Buy a few extra frames. They ARE from dollar tree, so they can break pretty easily especially if you’re having them delivered. Still worth it though for being a dollar a piece!!!).

I fell in love with this guestbook after seeing it on TikTok. I know there’s tons of “modern” ways of doing guestbooks, but with my husband and I being pretty traditional we wanted to go with a physical book. This guestbook is made out of real wood and there’s different color/font options as well!

Our flower girl baskets and petals were from Amazon too, and they ended up perfectly matching the three colors of our bridesmaid dresses!!

Cute cake topper? Oh yeah, that was Amazon too. 🙂

Ok, I’m about to rave for a second. These thank you cards and stamps were one of the biggest hits & we got tons of compliments from our guests! Our thank you cards came in different variations of greenery and fonts, and they also came with cute stickers to close the envelopes! We ordered our return address labels from VistaPrint. As for stamps, we didn’t want to have these pretty envelopes and thank you cards, and then a random American flag stamp! I felt like it would just ruin the vibe, you know? We got our stamps from LumiusStamps on Etsy. At this moment, they aren’t selling on Etsy. But Etsy does have tons of other cute options!

My second to last wedding purchase was our seating chart! I bought the template on Etsy and then customized it and printed it at Office Depot!

The very last purchase I made for my wedding was this charm. Both of my grandpas have passed away and I realized I wanted a way to honor them and “have them with me” on my wedding day. This was the perfect little decoration for that, and it had both my grandmas in tears!

A pretty pic of my ring just because I love it 🙂

I know that everyone has different styles when it comes to how they want their wedding to look, and that’s a beautiful thing! It would be such a bore if every wedding looked the same. My whole goal in posting this was that maybe you’ll find something you like, or maybe it’ll spark your memory on certain purchases you hadn’t thought of yet!

Thanks for coming to check it out, and also giving me an excuse to post my wedding photos. 😉

‘Til next time!
